IT'S CREEPY AND IT'S CRAWLY

Who knew Spiders could be so fun?

We love our IKEA lantern's, they are so Versatile!!!
We applied vinyl spider webs and spiders to the inside of the lantern with spider webbing underneath!
(The spider webbing was a pain to work with, I would do something different next time!)

Who knew donut holes could double as SPIDER EGGS?
Thank you for the great idea from here
This made a fun favor for each guest to take home.

I appreciated the napkin ring idea from here
Creepy and Crawly....  and so very fun!

A LITTLE BIT COUNTRY

When it is Cowboy Poet time we like to decorate a little country...

Putting a square of burlap and a bandanna in the mason jar helped to keep the  Sunflowers in place and We liked the look it gave.

We added just a simple paper napkin ring

And for their favor an "Edible Cow Pie"   aka  No Bake Cookie

WE CHERRY-ISH YOU

We do Cherry-ish our Senior Lunch Bunch!
It was fun to have such a bright happy theme.

To make the Cherries for the Centerpieces we just used red balloons,  paper twist and paper leaves.
We did have to Glue the Cherries to a clear plastic so they would stand up.  We found our inspiration for the cherries here

We made the cute cherry napkin rings from Candy Cherries, wire and twine. We were inspired by the idea here
And...Everything is more cute with these cute red check tablecloths!

The Balloon Cherries even looked cute hanging on the wall!!

Maypole Centerpiece

In May we decided to do Maypoles for centerpieces.  It was fun to hear comments from that generation that had actually participated in doing Maypoles at school.

I just used thick cardboard cylinders ( like from plastic wrap or foil) and used Plaster of Paris in the cups to make them sturdy.

The napkin rings were made from Cupcake liners.

Happy May Day!

You Are My Sunshine

"You are my Sunshine"
This was a fun theme.... but  a little harder to think of a centerpiece.
I think the sun for a table topper made all the difference!!

Blast Off

We love to spoil our Seniors that come to our luncheons.

We try to always send them home with some kind of favor.
For July we went patriotic and made the centerpieces out of Rockets made with Rolo Candy Bar's!
They loved taking them home!!

County Fair

Who doesn't love a County Fair?

We gathered our garden produce, bottled jams and a friend made homemade bread which put together made some fun centerpieces... and the best part  we drew names for them to take home the yummy food.

Monster Mash- Halloween

Isn't it great when Target's dollar section comes through for you?

We just added some pipe cleaners in a plaster of paris cup (Painted black )  inside so the eyeballs would poke out of the buckets.

We got the eyeballs at Dollar Tree and just drilled a hole in the bottom of them for the pipe Cleaner to go into.

Scattered chocolate eyeballs around.... Wow, easy peasy centerpiece!!
We loved the bright colors!  The napkin rings all had eyeballs on too.

We brightened up the front wall with Paper Plate monsters and eyeballs!

Life Needs More Pumpkin Pie

We had a lot of fun with this theme.  Each table got their own Pumpkin Pie as a centerpiece, with plates and Whipped topping so they could dig in!!

We ordered the pies from a local company, Rocky Mountain Pie's and they were so good.

The wood slices gave the pie a little pedestal and we love when we can layer the table toppers !!

It's not the best picture of the banner but it was so simple to make and we think it turned out pretty fun!  Thank you for the inspiration

Santa Belt Christmas

It's always hard to decide on centerpieces for Christmas because there are so many amazing ideas out there.

This year we chose to do A "Santa Belt" theme.  It was a lot of fun!

We made three different sizes of cones for each table.  It was a lot easier to make the cones using a paper mache cone to form it around.
My inspiration came from here.

We filled these gift boxes with yummy chocolate candy for them to take home

The Silverware and napkin holders added a lot to the table.

Bon Appetit

Once a year at our luncheons we have Pizza Pie Cafe' cater and we do a Pasta Bar.
Everyone loves it and we love it because it's so easy.

Going along with the Italian theme we made little chef's for the Centerpieces.

We just filled a cylinder with Fettuccine added a mustache, a Neckerchief and made a little chef hat from thick Tissue paper.  We think he's pretty cute!!

We are loving our red check tablecloths we invested in.  They have been so fun to use with a lot of our themes!!

Valentine Luncheon

Tic Tac Toe
3 in a Row
Hugs & Kisses
X's & O's

A friend of mine gave me some centerpieces she had spent so much time on.
She made Tissue Paper flowers and pinwheels.  Put them in a jar decorated with Doilies and twine.
I love that she shared these with our lunch group.

To add to the centerpieces we Put a tic tac toe pattern on each placemat.  It really made the placemat much more attractive!!
We cut fun XO's out to put on the napkins tied with twine ( What did we ever do before Cricket and Silhouette machines were invented)

For their favor we made these cute tic tac toe games for them to take home.

We have included the PDF if you would like to make your own ðŸ˜Š
They fit a 4X6 clear bag.

"Senior's Have Heart's of Gold"

This month's theme was "Senior's have heart's of Gold"  and I can tell you the Senior's in our city really do.  They are the best!!
These dainty clovers made fun napkin rings (too bad the color of the placemats wasn't a real green...)
I just cut hearts out on my cricut and glued them together to form a lucky four leaf clover!
Everyone loved these favors made with Rolo's.  I just cut circles out of gold scrapbook paper with my paper punch, glued on the rolo and I think the thing that made them extra cute were the Wilton Shamrock sprinkles.  Glad I found the inspiration for the hats here:  https://todayscreativelife.com/rolo-leprechaun-hats/
I was lucky enough to borrow these vases that had been converted to Gold. and just used the balloon weights from Dollar tree to stick down in the vases.  Simple, but colorful.

Friend "SHIPS" are the best SHIPS!

In February we celebrated Friendships!
These "ships" were so fun to do.  I just made a base for the sail with a Styrofoam cup and poured plaster of paris about 1/3 way up and placed a skewer in the middle.  When the plaster of paris was set up, i just peeled the cup off.  I glued the sails and flag on, put it in the trays from Hobby Lobby using crinkles to cover up the base.  So quick and easy and everyone loved them.
Behind the cake table, we added some sails that gave some color to the room.
"There are good SHIPS,  and wood SHIPS, SHIPS that sail the sea, but the best SHIPS are FRIENDSHIPS, may they always be"

SWEET sounds of Christmas

We always have the High School Madrigals come to entertain us at our luncheon in December, so Sweet "Sounds" of Christmas was  our theme.
These peppermints were so fun to make.  I first thought of painting the swirls on the paper plates.  I was a little overwhelmed with that and then a good friend suggested to just get color copies of a peppermint.  PERFECT!!!  I just glued the copy on to two paper plates and glued them together.  Wrapped them up in cellophane tied with bows.  They were so bright and fun.  Thank you to Amy D for the initial idea of the peppermint!!

The peppermints would have been fine for the centerpieces but instead I used them around the room and found beautiful peppermint wrapping paper at Hobby Lobby and just wrapped boxes for the centerpieces.  For the napkin rings I just put cellophane through a small color copy of a peppermint just cut out with a punch.

For just a little chuckle, as favors we gave out CANDY CANE SEEDS.   Thank you Farmers Wife for the idea. Click here for our printable version!

On the back we put this cute saying:
Magic Candy Cane Seeds
I once knew a gardener who knew how to grow
bright tasty candies from under the snow.
I asked him to share his secret with me
and this is the advice he gave me for free….
“To garden in winter snow is difficult,
it takes lots of care for a magic result.
Here are a couple of seeds to grow and
Soon you will have candy canes all in a row"

Taste Of Italy

Because we were serving a Pasta & Salad bar we wanted to decorate the tables Italian.  It was so inexpensive....almost free using what was in our cupboards.
The napkin rings with just a bow tie pasta glued on just add simple touch.

Gobble 'til you Wobble

Because I was out of town most of the month we went very simple.  A candle in a cylinder, a pumpkin from the garden and a turkey.  I loved the color the napkins as table toppers gave.  World Market has a great buy on napkins at their stores.   The beautiful plates that Costco has each year for Thanksgiving bring in so much color also.  My friend made all the turkeys out of netting and M&M's for everyone, so cute!  Simple, but it did the trick of making everyone feel welcome.  The silverware pocket printable can be found here.

Mummies Rule

It's always fun when we can let everyone take home a part of the centerpiece.

So for October we took  Cans of Pepperidge Farm Pirouette rolled wafers  and wrapped them up like mummies.

Everyone was very happy to get to take one home with them.

Gluing Eyes on the place-mats took very little time and seemed to add an element of fun.

Halloween

For our Halloween Luncheon, we found witches hats at a local grocery store for only $1.00.  We added some feathers and a bow and they made a fun centerpiece.  We gave them away as door prizes and 10 people went home with really cute witch hats.    We feel like the paper placemats add a lot of color and they really protect our nice tablecloths also!!
